Hydro gate valves (also known as sluice gates) are designed for controlling water levels and flow direction in open channels, tanks, or water treatment structures. The gate slides vertically to open or close, allowing unrestricted passage of large water volumes or isolating specific flow areas during cleaning or maintenance.
The rising or non-rising stem lifts the gate via threaded rotation or hydraulic pressure. It is typically installed at pipe outlets, pump stations, spillways, or in reinforced concrete chambers, providing durable, controllable water flow regulation for flood prevention, wastewater treatment, and reservoir systems.
Its structure typically includes a fabricated or cast stainless steel or carbon steel body with a sliding gate (rectangular or circular), rubber or metal sealing surfaces, and stem operation (manual, electric, or hydraulic). The valve’s large opening design ensures efficient flow capacity with low head loss, while its robust materials and sealing system deliver longevity in submerged or continuously wet environments.
