Rubber Lined Butterfly Valve
Introduction
At Vcore Valve, our Rubber Lined Butterfly Valve has been developed to solve the real challenges faced by customers handling corrosive and abrasive media. We have combined premium materials, strict quality control, and practical design to deliver a valve that performs reliably and economically.
Unlike generic options, our valve is a complete engineered system. The valve body, valve seat, and valve disc are all selected and designed to work together. The rubber lining is applied using controlled processes to ensure uniform thickness and strong adhesion, protecting the valve from corrosion and extending service life. This means longer operating intervals, lower maintenance costs, and safer, cleaner working environments for our customers.
Key Benefits:
-
Comprehensive Rubber Lining: All wetted surfaces inside the valve body are lined with premium-grade rubber (EPDM, NBR, or FPM) for protection against acids, alkalis, seawater, and other aggressive fluids.
-
Reliable Sealing: Precision-machined disc and seat deliver bi-directional zero-leakage performance even after thousands of cycles.
-
Multiple Operation Options: Manual lever, gear operator, pneumatic actuator, or electric actuator can be chosen to fit your process needs.
-
Replaceable Parts: Both the lining and seat are replaceable, extending valve life without replacing the whole unit.
-
International Standard Compliance: Our valves comply with ANSI, DIN, and JIS flange standards, ensuring easy installation worldwide.
Technical Specifications
| Item | Specification / Material (optional) |
|---|---|
| Valve Type | Rubber Lined Butterfly Valve |
| Size Range | DN50 – DN2000 (2” – 80”) |
| Pressure Rating | PN10 / PN16 / 150 PSI |
| Temperature Range | -20 °C to +120 °C (depending on lining material) |
| Connection | Wafer (between flanges) / Double Flanged |
| Operation | Lever, Gear, Pneumatic, Electric |
| Valve Body | Ductile iron, carbon steel, stainless steel with rubber lining |
| Valve Seat | EPDM, NBR, FPM (fluoro-rubber) |
| Valve Disc | Stainless steel 304/316, nickel-plated ductile iron |
| Valve Stem | Stainless steel 420/431 |
| Sealing Class | Bi-directional zero leakage |
| Coating | Epoxy or customer-specified coating |
Each element is specified with performance in mind. For example, the valve seat uses high-elastic EPDM for water and mild chemicals, NBR for oils, and FPM for strong chemicals and higher temperatures. The valve disc can be stainless steel for corrosion resistance or nickel-plated ductile iron for durability and economy. The valve stem is hardened stainless steel to resist wear and ensure long service life.
Functions and Operation
Our Rubber Lined Butterfly Valve works as both an on/off device and a reliable flow controller. In the fully open position, it provides low-pressure drop for energy-efficient flow. When partially closed, it offers effective throttling without damaging the seat. The rubber lining isolates the metal body from the process media, protecting against corrosion and preventing contamination.
With the right actuator — manual, gear, pneumatic, or electric — our valve can be integrated into a simple pipeline or an automated control system. Every valve is torque and seal tested before shipment so customers can install with confidence.
Applications
Our valve is built for real-life applications:
-
Chemical plants moving acids, alkalis, and brines
-
Marine and desalination projects handling seawater and brackish water
-
Metallurgy and power plant cooling systems where corrosion and scaling occur
-
Food, beverage, and pharmaceutical cleaning systems where non-contamination is critical
-
Municipal water supply and wastewater treatment plants requiring reliable isolation and control
These industries benefit from the combination of corrosion resistance, tight sealing, and easy maintenance our rubber lined butterfly valve provides
