The Grooved Gate Valve functions as an isolation valve, used primarily to start or stop flow in grooved piping systems. When the handwheel or actuator turns the stem, the encapsulated wedge moves vertically to open or close the passage, creating a tight seal when closed. Thanks to its grooved ends, the valve is quickly installed between grooved couplings without flanges or welding, reducing labor and downtime.
