Pneumatic Knife Gate Valve

Pneumatic Knife Gate Valve

Material:
Body: Typically made from cast iron, ductile iron, or stainless steel for corrosion resistance and strength. For applications involving abrasive or corrosive fluids, high-strength alloys may be used.
Gate: Usually made from stainless steel, carbon steel, or hardened alloys to ensure durability and resistance to wear, especially when used in slurry or viscous media.
Seat: Commonly made from rubber, PTFE, or metal, depending on the media being controlled. The seat material is designed to create a tight seal when the valve is closed.
Stem: Typically stainless steel or alloy steel to ensure smooth operation and resistance to corrosion.
Seals: The seals are often made from PTFE, graphite, or elastomers to provide reliable sealing and prevent leaks, even under high-pressure or abrasive conditions.

Size (Nominal Pipe Diameter):
Common sizes: 2″, 3″, 4″, 6″, 8″, 10″, 12″, and larger

Pneumatic Knife Gate Valve

Pneumatic Knife Gate Valve with Stainless Steel Gate and Air CylinderProduction Overview

The Pneumatic Knife Gate Valve, engineered and manufactured by Vcore Valves, is specifically designed for demanding applications that involve thick fluids, slurries, and dry bulk materials. Its streamlined gate design effortlessly cuts through media, ensuring reliable shut-off performance in even the most challenging environments. Actuated by high-efficiency pneumatic cylinders, this valve offers fast, automated operation and minimal maintenance requirements.

Key Features

  • Efficient Cutting: Knife-shaped gate blade slices through high-viscosity media, solids, and slurry with ease.

  • Automated Control: Pneumatic cylinder provides fast, safe, and precise valve actuation.

  • Full Port Design: Minimal flow resistance with reduced pressure drop.

  • Self-Cleaning: Gate scrapes accumulated solids upon opening/closing, preventing jamming.

  • Compact Structure: Space-saving design for convenient piping installation.

  • Low Maintenance: Simple design with minimal moving parts reduces wear and maintenance cost.

  • Versatile Installation: Can be mounted vertically or horizontally to suit site conditions.

  • Custom Options: Available with soft seal, metal seat, or PTFE-lined designs upon request.

Function

The valve operates by using compressed air to drive the piston inside the pneumatic actuator. As the actuator moves, it drives the knife gate to open or close. The sharpened gate edge smoothly passes through thick or fibrous media, ensuring complete shut-off when closed. Thanks to its low friction sealing and minimal flow obstruction, it is ideal for processes requiring reliable isolation with sticky, abrasive, or particulate-rich fluids.
